Shabana Naaz (38) born in Peshawer, emerged from an eventful and uneasy married life, found a writer in herself. Currently she is working on her new serial “Susral phir susral hey”, which is scheduled to air on Geo TV in January 2010. Her first book is also due to hit shelves, titled “Iss saas se maut achi”. Can she create stir in stagnent waters of Urdu drama, only time will tell.
Aseer Anjum (45) born in Karachi, used to be a business man by profession, until recently offcourse. He is the co-author of new serial “Kitney Sapney kitney arman”, originally written for Prime TV, may eventually air on AAJ. “Kitney Sapney kitney arman” is the story of a young guy, who despite of his God given talents, fails for reasons beyond his control. His struggle becomes more complicated, as he tries to repair a broken relationship. As story continues, viewers will experience and some may relate to how life gets stuck between rock and a hard place. Aseer’s writing style, makes it shine, and shows mastery of someone coming from a long line of writers. Infact, he is not from a writer’s lineage, and his only claim to literally art, may be that he was once married to an author.
Shahana Ikram (70) Karachi. Its not everyday we come across a writer, who defy the odds, and comes up with a literally work at the age only some would dare try, and yet that could potentially change the performing arts as we see it. Shahana Ikram is the co-author of “Kitney Sapney kitney arman”, and for those who know her, also ex mother-in-law of Shabana Naaz.
