Online, these posters are a good read http://www.discoverislam.com

i am currently reading Akbar S. Ahmed's "Islam Today"....
it seems good....
written in an unbiased sort of way....

How about Quran with translation in their native language?

It’s a great site. It’s a portal that includes everything from the very basics through to in-depth analysis of religious issues.

The Quran, like ahmedjee said..
and Harun Yahya’s books.. Harun Yahya

I'll suggest Quran translated in thier native language with tafseer.

jazakallah everyone :k:

i’ll pass on all this info..thanks so much

please keep the suggestions comin

ARMUGHAL bhai from what i have seen/heard/read Akbar Ahmed seems to be one of those “liberal” Muslims…Allah o Alim..he’s not the type whose book i’d recommend to someone…maybe im wrong tho? what wuld u say?

what i have read of akbar ahmed i did not find anything that went against islam....
his book that i mentioned, is the only book of his that i have read, is free from any unIslamic views....
perhaps what u heard of him as being liberal is what i called in my post as unbiased view....
infact that is what i'd say is good about his writing, he does not side Islam (and Muslims) unjustly....

i've read some of his articles in the newspapers too and i've never found anything wrong with them....

infact i was thinking of suggesting the Discover Islam in bahrain (who r actively engaged in propgation of Islam and frequently arrange visits of muslims and sometimes non muslim scholars for lectures) to call prof ahmed for a lecture or two here in bahrain....

armughal bhai thanks for the reply :-)

Walaykum assalam wr wb,

Give them a copy of Quran with translation and offer them your assistance, insha'Allah.

Plus, give them a few books like the ones on the scientific explanations.

I personally think that before (or along) offering any books or websites, make sure you offer them your assistance. That way if they get stuck at some point they can properly explain it to you and then either you can answer their query or ask someone with knowledge about it.

this link has been already posted on this forum
but i would take this oppurtunity to post it here again as it is relevant
