Why Should We Hire You?
This is the only toughest question I came across with.
I hate those behavioral questions...like how did you respond to a certain situation; if you had to do it again how would you respond differently.

Use the STAR principles:
S- describe the situation
T- Talk about the Tasks required
A- What actions did you have to take (the main aim of your 30-60 sec response)
R - what were the end results (very important to talk about this but dont make it your focus)
The recruiters want to know what you personally did in terms of actions and what the end results were.
What are your undesirable traits?

The STAR framework seems to be useful...Thanks..I'll try using it in my next interview
I am a Human Resources Coordinator so I live and breathe interviewing candidates for my job. I ask interviewees interviewing for different positions different types of questions. Some of the more basic ones I ask candidates are:
What do u hope to accomplish in 10 yrs?
What r some of ur 2 best qualities and how can u envision urself applying these to the position u've applied 4?
If you had to choose another field to work in, what would it be and why?
These are boring questions I'm sure, but I try to get a feel for the person by asking them in order to see how they handle themselves in person. You'd be surprised the kinds of responses I sometimes get! ;)

As being a HR Coordinator, what do you believe are the best responses to the questions you mentioned above?
Whats your view of the STAR method in answering behavioural questions?
And what are good responses to these questions?

Surprise us.
Each person is different in answering these types of questions so it’s hard for me to say what kinds of answers I prefer in response to the example questions I mentioned above. The main thing I look for is that the person is answering them with full confidence while for the most part staying ontrack with the line of questioning.
Hmcq, behavioral questioning tends to work in certain environments such as, for example, the pharmaceutical field. I neither like nor dislike this format of interviewing but it depends on what field you’re interviewing in for this technique to be effective. Behavioral is less likely to be used in say, a technological company where focus is quite rigid and dictated narrowly as opposed to assessing a person’s attitude towards a certain situation and whatnot. ![]()

Have you ever asked someone to describe him/herself in three words?
I have, Pak Tiger, but not as directly as "describe urself in 3 words" :D
