I was an intern in my company for two years. When I had about two semesters to go, my manager asked me if I would like to join in as full time. I hasitated at first but gave in later.

The interview in this case was very simple, as they all knew me already. They asked me funny questions rather than any technical ones.

Few important ones are as follows:
1-What is your life time goal in your career field?
2-What is the hardest part of work you have done during your internship - which was the easiest?
3-What new can you bring to this job position?
4-Why you chose certain electives in school and not the others (as per my transcript)

Had very few technical questions like:
--What version control system do you prefer?
--Why use double linked list when one can use others meathods?
--Something about Hash keys (can't remember)

Hope that helps!

alrighty Nia…
here’s my list

Questions that I hate to answer, but almost all interviews have’em:

1- So tell me about yourself…
2- Where do you see yourself in three/five years

Other questions which are a little tricky usually involve scenarios…
One typical one is:
Your manager is away on a project and has made you incharge of another very urgent project. A problem arises that you did not anticipate before and have no clue how to solve. You CANNOT reach your boss or manager and have to get this done… what will you do?

Finally, some multinational companies also have a preview screening test… these are more fun than anything else and at the end of the test it tells you about your personality. Yeah as if the computer has any clue

Companies can use the data to decide whether to hire you or to decide what manager to put you with etc.

Also rarely but nevertheless there are funny and stupid questions. Typical question in Microsoft interviews:

the guy points to a glass and asks if I were to drop it on the floor, how many pieces will it break into?
You’re like hunh??? …
but ppl come up with funny answers like
“many pieces”
“it depends”
“how far away from ground are you throwing it?”
etc.

The trick is to show them that you’re spontanous…
the guy who gets the answer right is the one who picks it up and drops it on the ground:
“lets count them shall we”

Hope that is helpful.

Ciao,
Umar.
