When these go for a long time on the phone/email, and then you end up meeting later due to logistical problems in meeting up…how do you deal with the awkwardness? People are always different in real life.

Forsure, that's why it's safest to try your hardest to meet first before investing into one of these. Once you've met in person, you know what your working with. Sometimes you don't click in person the same way you do online, people are really different.

Depends on the people involved, that's it, there are no tactics or plans or approaches that would make the meeting a success or failure but just the people meeting.

I do a lot of online dating (I'm not muslim), key is to meet up as fast as possible, because after a while of just talking/texting people lose interest, and you don't really know what they're being honest about and what they're lying about until you look them in the eye
