Internet’s advent has brought many advantages and a wealth of information besides connecting the world. Sadly it has also had a great impact on people and culture.
In Pakistan, according to official statistics, 60% of people using the internet visit or access pornography sites.
The following links show an even darker picture.
2006 Search Engine Request Keyword Trends show that out of 10 countries for the keyword search “xxx” Pakistan ranked on number 5, and for the keyword “sex” , Pakistan ranked # 1.
Block/Ban the damn sites as other countries have done it.
FARID
Pakistan's ISPs already all voluntarily block pornographic websites - which is why no government legislation exists on this unlike those countries named earlier.
However, since the blocking technology works by blocking specific websites, it is impossible to block all porn as no catalogue exists of all the pornographic websites in the world. The ISPs block all the porn websites that they are aware of, but hundreds of thousands of others still exist and new ones are msde each day.
People can also bypass filters easily using proxies and other technologies.
In other words, you cannot effectively stop Pakistanis from getting their porn. All you can try and do is persuade them not to try to look at it..... an impossible task.
Short of banning the internet, there is no way to completely stop people getting porn.
Yaar agar logon ko budha kar ke shaadi na karain to maybe less rujhan hoga porno per. Its long after we gain senses of our puberty that we get married.
Let them watch porn if they want... The nation needs some sexual outlets. Where else is a horny teenager supposed to vent? Would you perfer he start looking for the real thing?!?!

Bhaijan, Pakistan are great fans of Vin Diesel, that’s why the great number of searches for XXX.
Also, Pakistanis are great fans of Johnny Rotten and do lots of searches for ‘Sex Pistols’.
There is nothining sisnister about sharif Pakistan :D](“http://”)
my question would be…is this a harmful attitude… i guess not jerking off over porns isnt harmful to anyone… so why such shor sharaba… i think we all should keep our noses out of other people’s business.
As i see it, there is only one solution of this and this get marry early. In this way both boys and girls can be controled from involving in sexual activities.
you cannot possible ban all porn sites.. belileve me .. there are millions of them out there.. u wud need a big tassk force searching and banning new websites on a daily basis... that wont happen..
why wud u wanan ban it anyway? its male nature.. to watch porn.. think abt sex. or whatever..u cannot control or change tthat.. infact hiding all the girls iside houses.. covering em in burqas.. and having seperate schools for guys n girls.. might look like efforts tryin to control premarital relations between guys n girls but it makes it worse... guys wud get more 'sexual' in their thoughts n everytime they meet girls they r gonna get horny cuz they aint used to it.. most paki fobs i see r so uncomfortable with girls.. they r not able to have a healthy friendly relationship with the opposite sex... nyway.. my rant is useless.... back to the topic.. YOU CANNOT DELETE PORN... U SHUDNT DELETE IT..... PORN IS GOOD... (hareem, pls give me some references from the hadiths about porn being haraam)
I think banning is a great idea as it helps feed a cottage industry of filtering software. Great for the local IT gang.
It's a tricky problem...best way to do it is force porn sites to have a certain domain...ain't going to happen.
Could filter on content, but then, too many false positives.
Very best alternative, imho, is to have a very high speed local net that essentially has a content-controlled cache (backed by local legislation, of course), and shut out the Internet. Have many other value added services (e.g. TV, Music, etc). People would prefer to use it over the crap ass Internet as served up through the ISPs. Time for developing countries to show the rest of the world how the net should have been commoditized.
