**The Third International Urdu Conference began at the Arts Council on Thursday on an elaborate grand scale, participated in by a galaxy of literary figures of Urdu in the presence of an equally literary and appreciative audience. It concluded on Sunday after various beautiful programmes were held during the four-day event at the Arts Council, Karachi.
The theme of the conference is, “Two-hundred years of the birth celebration of Mir Taqi Mir”, a poet who is rightly called the “Emperor of Urdu Ghazal”.
