I am interested, generally in the views of Pakistanis and 9/11. As a Pakistani to what extent and in what ways has International Relations been changed by the events of 9/11?
Would be interesting to see people’s views and opinions.

homework?
Re: International Relations and 9/11
Taliban were doing good until the (elite) terrorists pulled off 9/11 to control the profits (ie opium). Now Afghanistan accounts for 90% of the world's heroine trade. ... all this trouble flows into Pakistan in the form of violence and drugs. Obviously Pakistan bought out by the elites and unfortunately they are seeking to destroy us because of our belief!
No, but possibly homework for school children in a few years time!
homework?
Interesting. So you think that terrorists pulled off 9/11 purely for the purpose of controlling Opium profits out from Afghanistan? Do you think that the Taliban were in anyway connected to 9/11? Or were they merely providing a safe haven for OBL? Afghanistan isn't the only country with the Opium problem. There is also Burma.

By terrorists I mean the world elite. The Taliban were burning the crops but this didn't go please the elite. This is one of many reasons why these terrorist pulled off 9/11. Taliban were not directly connected to 9/11.
Meaning: terrorists = Elites = certain western politicians?

Re: International Relations and 9/11
Politicians are elected, do you know of any superpower that gets elected? Meaning do you know of any emperor in the history of civilization that gets elected? No, emperors do NOT get elected. Politicians are mere puppets of this elite system.
Re: International Relations and 9/11
But it doesnt answer the question. How did 9/11 change International Relations i.e relations between nations, in regards to security, war and state? What role does religion play?
Re: International Relations and 9/11
Complicated. Depends how you look at it, the nations have come together for a purpose but that purpose is of no good (WAR).. Religion is system which speaks out against the elite system. That is why it's always at war. They cannot stand it that there are others who can gather the masses into believing in a totally different system...
Well, there is a doubt as to whether Bush actually got elected or not - but he certainly isn't an emperor. Not at the moment anyway. Do you think that American empire will rise in the middle east?

Re: International Relations and 9/11
Bush is nothing! You gotta see the bigger picture, all these scandals are tip of the iceberg.
I don’t know if there’s a “American” empire but there sure is one which includes most of the American elite.
Well, International Relations came about around 1914 and at that time people thought that nations went into war for obvious reason i.e self defence and to gain something from the invaded country. But around this time, people started questioning the actual reason for war - especially since money was spent, there was a lot of negetive effects of war, such as civilian deaths etc etc. So, they came to the conclusion that International relations is the study of war, security and state. Also, in this subject there is never only one 'textbook' theory - there are many theories as to why a certain thing happened. I personally think that International Relations isnt just about state, war and security, but also about religion because without the religious element there will not be a question of war and security. An example can the second world war and the Holocaust.

So youre saying that there IS an American empire? But not necessarily in the middle east? First you say “I dont know if there there’s a “American” empire” and then you say “but there is one…”
Re: International Relations and 9/11
i meant there is an empire but not necessarily an American one.
Youre saying a terrorists organization like al-qaeda or whatever, with American members? They are this 'elite'?

Re: International Relations and 9/11
If what you are saying is true - what reason do Americans have, in your thought, to pull off 9/11 and be members of this 'elite'?
Re: International Relations and 9/11
Al-Qaeda is fiction! :)

Profits and more profits.
Youve hit it right on the head, buddy!
