PCA Masters XI 138/9 (20/20 ov)
Faisalabad Wolves 142/7 (20.0/20 ov)
Faisalabad Wolves won by 3 wickets
final starting in about 40mins from now.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
There is a big "visible" difference in the quality of 20-20 so far. Faisalabad scored over 200 in their previous match, and 180+ was a normal score in ABN Amro's competetion. For other teams 120-160 seems a big total.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
I don’t think there is a visible difference in the quality but yes there is a visible difference in the conditions. ABN AMRO was played in pakistan and this one is in england. If you have seen the semi final, you must have noticed that the ABN AMRO champs were clrealy in trouble chasing 138 and almost lost the match. The pitch was clearly assisting the spinners and the ball was not coming on to the bat.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
That was due to the low score Wolves never expected. 138 was just like a "candy" from PCA masters, so they went for big hits right from the start and lost their wickets early. The key batsmen Asif Hussain went for a duck, and the hard-hitting opener went for 1.
That was not a tough match otherwise to me. It was an easy chase in the end. When chasing a low score like 138 in a 20-20 game, and youi have lost your key players at the start, there is no need to hit it hard. Singles and doubles were enough to achieve victory, and in case a 4 was enough to keep things in shape. 5 runs were required from the last over and they were scored easily.
Wolves are the best team in Pakistan when it comes to chasing scores and they proved it once again.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
yes 5 were needed in the last over because salman hit a 6 of the last ball of the penultimate over making the target easier which was looking difficult moments before that. Wolves needed 59 runs of the last 60 balls and eventually managed to win on the last ball of the match. It was looking like a typical 50 overs ODI in the last 10 overs. The point is that its not the poor quality of cricket being played but its because of the conditions which are definitely not entirely batsmen friendly, we havent seen alot of 200+ scores.
Anyways in the end I hope wolves will kick a$$ in the final to clinch the cup.

Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
Hmm yes Salman hit a six to Robin Singh. That reduced the required score to 5. This is what I mean, Wolves can settle themselves easily according to score-ball ratio. Singh was very economical otherwise and batsmen were playing defensively, that six was out of expectation.
Yes conditions can play their role, but FSD Wolves are the best team to play this tournament. I hope you have seen the final of ABN Amro. That final was played in "other" conditions, and Wolves chased the target in a similar manner. This match was differnet in players' order and scores, but one thing common is the ability of Wolves to chase any sort of scores.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
Conditions are playing a role and PCA masters should have asked symonds to play in their side to counter the conditions.
Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
Well DONE Faisalabad!!!!!
Mohammad Salman is a good batsman and he helped Faisalabad win quite afew games in ABN AMRO cup as well(he has got funny English accent, another Akhtar in making). Manan played some marvellous strokes to setup this win, Fsd did struggle to win this even though their captain Ijaz Junior claimed that the target was EASY.

Re: International 20:20 Club Championship.
After losing 3 early wickets, any conditions will slow down the score, for some time, to save wickets. Then batsmen can strike again.
