internal sleep clock

I need all the psych ppls help..can your internal sleep clock thingy get used to u doing something before u sleep? I have noticed i cant sleep until i talk to him n its every single time i dont talk to him. The nights that i do, i sleep fine n i sleep right after talking to him n if i dont, then i cant sleep no matter how tired/sleepy i am. Oh n i guess its kinda like a habit cuz its been like that for over a year a now..Is there still hope for me :bummer:

Re: internal sleep clock

hahah cute :)

Re: internal sleep clock

don't worry its a matter of time.....inshallah u will be back to normal.

Re: internal sleep clock

not to me its not, i have so many things to do tom :frowning: n i was planning on waking up early n working out

Pyaari hmm probably not, we still talk alot..once in a while we dont, n this is wat happens

Re: internal sleep clock

^ yeap

try talking till about 1.30 each weeknight... sooner or later u'll be falling asleep at 9 without talking to him... but then again, u might wake up at around 1ish thinking u've forgotten to do something...

hmm try doing exercise in the evening? Ive no time for anything these days.. so i do bout 50min worth of exercice after work...

Re: internal sleep clock

ya keep urself busy.....working out helps me get rid of some of my emotions or anger.

Re: internal sleep clock

i usually sleep around 2 when i am talking to him, but today i just couldnt..n i am still like wide awake…hmmm yea with me its like mon, wed, fri is when its for girls n mon, wed i have class n i usually have other things to do too..like i am probably gonna be out from 1-9 or 10 pm n then the stupid gym closes at 10 :bummer: unless i wake up early like at 10 i cant workout

Re: internal sleep clock

you will still be busy....but on ur day's off try to get a work out so that u can waste ur energy somewhere else.

Re: internal sleep clock

yea i have just been lazy..the other gyms a bit far..anyways i am gonan try sleeping again

Re: internal sleep clock

don't worry TJ, it does happen.
Well the same thing happened to me, but I didn't even notice when my habits changed and now I can find my sleep. There were times when I didn't sleep for about 3 nights in a row, though I could sleep during day time but at night it was impossible to sleep even if I was very tired.

Re: internal sleep clock

lolz.. join the club. i just pulled an all nighter doing my assignment and talking to him. slept at 9 am and woke up again at 1pm. at work right now.. n i have no clue what i am doing. have to go to dinner after work and then study for exam next week. it has come to the point where i cant sleep before 3am. beat that :snooty:

Re: internal sleep clock

well yea, kinda.

i think you have made talking to your "woh" the relaxing thing people do before they go to bed. like some people read books, you have attributed your conversation to relaxation.

if that is really bothering you, try to do something that is relaxing or tiring. like the old drink a warm glass of milk before going to bed. or taking a nice warm shower. or do some vigorous excercise, so you are so pooped out that you just conk out as soon as you hit the bed.

but try not to eat or drink anything heavy before going to bed. no midnight snacks. and try to make a permanent bed time.

Re: internal sleep clock

time is the best teacher...

Re: internal sleep clock

You have associated sleep with talking to him before actually going to sleep. It is pretty much all in your head. You can change that. Add a new routine after talkign to him. For example reading a book or simply just looking at a very dry math or physics book and I am sure you will fall a sleep in 5 minutes.

Try talking to him an hour before you actually go to bed.

Hope all this helps.

Re: internal sleep clock

I strongly believe that no one's world should revolve around anyone until they are married living together. You do lose that charm if 2 people get too close together.

i know most of the people will disagree and i am sure you probably cursed me out after reading the above 2 lines but one day you will realize.

Re: internal sleep clock

and we waste our best teacher quite often

Re: internal sleep clock

:bummer:

Re: internal sleep clock

hmmm no i am not cursing u yet but there are things you cant control, for me its being close to him..i cant help it.

Re: internal sleep clock

^ sigh I wish I can troooly help but I think what Nia has said, does makes alot of sense. Sometimes we just want to do it all at once get to know each other inside out… leave out some mystery for later yar. Try! Otherwise the fun will be over too soon before u even know it. Eer ok u don’t have to go pounding on my head, cuz I went thru a worser phase prior to getting married just what u’ve described above. We were both Insomniac to begin with. Now its like he goes to sleep too early, and is up chirping away at wee early hrs of dawn, while me still keep up until dawn, and then shaken alive by my toddler jumping up and down on me the minute she wakes up. Quite a messed up sleep schedule I have.

Anyway…did I answer ur question or not, cuz it certainly doesn’t feels so to me :bummer:

ps. Although I have developed this ability over the last 5 yrs, that If I’ve to be up by 6 a.m…I constantly keep on waking up every 2 hrs in the night. Like a mentle alarm clock is ticking inside my head. Sometimes I wake up exactly at the time I’m supposed to. So maybe u’ll end up like me or insha Allah better I hope  All the best!
ps2. Reading is a much healthier habit btw in every sense.

Re: internal sleep clock

TJ this happened to me too but not now, I have started managing things and myself. I usually talk to him 3 days a week and the days I don’t I just keep msging him, and when it comes to sleep..i just msg him goodnight and sleep like a baby. It might sound stupid but it worked for me, just one message and im off to sleep.
