Re: Interfering Parents
When i was little, yeah i thought my parents were so interferring…but now looking back i think they were just parenting…when ur younger u need someone to “baby” u, i think that’s how they showed me they loved and cared about me…
But i remember being like 12 yrs old and wanting to be a social worker and my Mum said “no way!” I didn’t like nor understand that… anyway, in my family our parents have always interferred/had interest about wot classes we were taking and wot profession we wanted to go in…but now that we’re older and have rebelled long enough LOL, i think they r more laid back and don’t ask as many questions as they used to (as a result, it’s been easier for my now 12 yr. old brother!)…
My Mum was always picky about the food we ate and my Dad was always having a go at me about my studies…how to dress? yeah we got that too, still do sometimes but i think they see we’re mature enough to make our own decisions and be individuals, and not have them living thru us anymore making us the “little versions” of them!
And also like saimanyc said, my parents also love it when i wear Pakistani clothes, guess it’s sentimental to them and i don’t mind wearing them to make them happy once in a while ![]()
