To me it seems that Obama doesn't really want to take military action in Syria. However he is being pushed into it by Israel and the Sunni states like Saudi and Qatar who are all common enemies of Syria.
His comments about the "red line" probably hasn't helped him stay out of it, I bet he regrets it now.
This new weapons deal will give Assad time, something I'm sure he's happy for. The opposition certainly are not.

its a pipeline war america will go in Syria one way or another just like they went in Iraq even if they have to support the rebels (ie Al-Qaida Talbian & other Sunni terrorist groups who are fighting as rebels)
The Sunni brothers are too busy fueling sectarian hate without realizing the consequence of it, even the British and the Americans citizens are against America & UK's involvement and are supporting Assad or are neutral.
Only Iran Syria & Lebanon along with China Russia have the balls to stand against america everyone else is licking Americas shoes just because they are against the alavi asad and shia iran.

As a neutral person It does seem to me that if the Zionists are the enemies of Islam then the actions of the Sunni states in this war will only really benefit Israel. Syria will become a broken state like Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan which all will take years to build themselves up. The other Muslim states are all just American cronies according to popular opinion here. That will just leave the Zionists to deal with Iran which wouldn't be too difficult, and where would all that leave the poor Palestinian people??? Israel will have even more freedom to continue with their expansionist policies, and the Muslim states will be partly to blame. But the Sunni fundamentalists of course will place the blame on the West and on the usual suspects rather than accepting any responsibility.
