For those of you girls in the medical field, check this out. I know it can be hard finding a family that is 1) understanding of your training and 2) is tolerant of your training even after marriage, since medical training can go on for years and years. They have a facebook group, and a website as well. This little old friendly looking man just goes city to city trying to find matches and setting up people. Looks like there are engineers, and other signed up for the service too, so it’s not just docs.

I think you do a great job posting thought provoking and insightful articles. It’s also great to read liberal minded views. I do not know why people would want their doctor/engineer/professional bahus to limit or stop their jobs rather than encourage them. Unfortunately this also occurs in my community somewhat. Ideally, the in laws, especially if from a similar field, should support the bahu like their own daughter and should be proud of her achievements. I’d like to blame all the tv shows which have as their basis the saas-bahu idea like they always have to be rivals but sometimes it seems it is due to insecurity.
