interesting possibility

I was talking to someone and was told that there is a good possibility that our captian, Inzi might get suspended after the 3rd ODI. That because in the first two ODI’s our bowlers failed to bowl witin the allotted time during their innings ( ~ 3.5 hrs). In the first ODI both teams failed to bowl within time and captains and teams fined. But in the 2nd ODI, India bowled within time but our fast bowlers again took too long and now after 2 consecutive offenses, Inzi can get suspended if we dont bowl within the specified time in 3rd ODI.

Your thoughts?

i never heard of any such rule by ICC that a capatain can be suspended for not getting his bowlers to bowl in time for three consecutive matches.....anybody here has ICC rule book???

Yeah according to today's newspaper, if inzimam again have his bowlers bowling for more more than the allotted time in the time span of twelve months from now on, he will have to be suspended for minimum three matches, the suspension can be more than three matches as well depending on the judgements of the ICC panel. SO Inzimam should not go beyond the allotted of bowling for twelve months from now on.

yes it is the new rule, previously overs used to be docked for the team bowling at a slow over rate or the match fee was deducted but now the match fee is deducted plus the captain of the team gets 2 warnings/3 chances and after that a minimum of 3 match suspension for the captain well it is now the bowlers job to take care of their captain in tonite`s match other wise the rest of the series yoyo will be leading the side hope our pace bowlers read the newspaper b4 going to the game or atleast look at the rule book for once. It is surprising that our subcontinent captains dont even know about the new rules because the indian captain saurav ganguly did not know about this new rule infact in the first ODI he went to the match referee to find out how many overs will be docked from pakistan and he was shocked to find out the new rule hehehehe

He may be suspended for 4 test matches! What a crappy rule as said by Ganguly other day. When the gaems are this tight, captain and all players take their time and make sure that nothing goes wrong.

Pakistan always play with 4 fast/medium pacers and they will sure take the time to bowl out their overs. ICC should think about this too. They can deduct the overs or reduce the target as a penalty.

i don't like this rule either but i think this might give Pakistani bowlers a chance not to screw their captain - and it will help them to get their line and length straighten up!

well, inzi did save himself from this new rule by bowling within his alloted time....but i have a feeling that ganguly is next to suffer from this rule....
