The Knighting Ceremony

Recently, Rabbi Jacobawitz, the chief rabbi of England, was knighted
by the Queen.

As part of the knighting ceremony, Rabbi Jacobawitz had to kneel
before the Queen, and as we all know Jews do not bow before anyone
except Hashem. On top of that, he was told to recite a paragraph from
the Christian liturgy during the actual knighting.

The Rabbi was in a quandary, as this was being televised, but he could
NOT violate the Jewish laws. The five honorees were lined up waiting
for the Queen to receive them. As her royal highness entered the room
all kneeled, except for Rabbi Jacobawitz.

The Queen noticed this, but diplomatically ignored it. Then, the Queen
began knighting each person.

When she came to Rabbi Jacobawitz, who still wasn't kneeling, she
looked at him expectantly.

Realizing she was waiting for the Latin recitation, he began to sweat
and shake with nervousness.

Then, in a fit of utter desperation, he said the first thing that came
to mind: "Ma Nish Tana Halilah Hazeh!"

The Queen, perplexed, turned to Prince Charles and asked, "Why is this
knight different from all other knights?" (By George Burns)

**"Ma Nish Tana Halilah Hazeh!": "Why is this night different from all
other nights?" the question asked at the start or every Passover Sedar. *

Re: INTERESTING LIVES and INTERESTING FACTS

This story is truly amazing.

My name is Nick Vujicic

and I give God the Glory for how He has used my testimony to touch thousands of hearts around the world! I was born without limbs and doctors have no medical explanation for this birth ‘defect’. As you can imagine, I was faced with many challenges and obstacles.

***‘Consider it pure joy, my Brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.’ ***
‘And we know that in all things God works for the best for those who love Him.’ That verse spoke to my heart and convicted me to the point where that I know that there is no such thing as luck, chance or coincidence that these ‘bad’ things happen in our life.

I now see that Glory revealed as He is using me just the way I am and in ways others can’t be used.

I am now twenty-three years old and have completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Accounting. I am also a motivational speaker and love to go out and
***share my story and testimony wherever opportunities become available. ***

***I have developed talks to relate to and encourage students through topics that challenge today’s teenagers. ***
I am also a speaker in the corporate sector.

I have a passion for reaching out to youth and keep myself available for whatever God wants me to do, and wherever He leads, I follow.

***I have many dreams and goals that I have set to achieve in my life. I want to become the best witness I can be of God’s Love and Hope, to become an international inspirational speaker and be used as a vessel in both Christian and non-Christian venues. ***

***I want to become financially independent by the age of 25, through real estate investments, to modify a car for me to drive and to be interviewed and share my story on the ’ Oprah Winfrey Show '! Writing several best-selling books has been one of my dreams and I hope to finish writing my first by the end of the year. It will be called ‘No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!’ ***
***The awesome thing about the Power of God, is that if we want to do something for God, instead of focusing on our capability, concentrate on our availability for we know that it is God through us and we can’t do anything without Him. Once we make ourselves available for God’s work, guess whose capabilities we rely on? God’s! ***

May the Lord Bless you

Re: INTERESTING LIVES and INTERESTING FACTS

NATHIAGALI
(NWFP)

**THIRTY **

Re: INTERESTING LIVES and INTERESTING FACTS

NATHIAGALI
(NWFP)

THIRTY TWO Km North of MURREE HILLS,
this hill station is about 9000 sq.ft above the sea-level.
Same distance from ABBOTABAD,
Nathiagali has now become a centre of tourist attraction
for both; the Country people as well as the foreigners.

From Nathiagali, one can get an absolutely clear view
of Kohistan an Kashmir’s snow clad mountains…

NANGA PARBAT is also seen clearly from the top of Nathiagali
where we have the famous GREENS RETREAT (Hotel)
besides the Summer-Villas of rich and fortunate ones…

mostly from Punjab, NWFP and Baluchistan..

NATHIAGALI is the summer place for NWFP cities
and is largely visited by people from all over Pakistan
with heavy rush on weekends, gazetted holidays like
EID an Ind. Day etc..

***The oldest spot in Nathiagali is ***
MISS POTT’s CHURCH

which was, reportedly, made in 1895
and repaired & restored (to what it appears today)..in 1914.

NATHIAGALI receives frequent rain and hail storm

(most recent during my two nights visit and stay
at my cousin’s villa adjacent to Greens Retreat)

and is very cold
(on 19th and 20th April it was 2 to 3 on weather)

NATHIAGALI has a large bazaar which caters to small hotels
and some of the best restaurants on food like;
Chicken Karahi and CHARGHA.

While driving from Murree to Nathiagali…
and a bit before Ayubia, you are bound to come
accross MONKEYS in large numbers…

who literally come to you seeking food…
and if you do offer them..they would politely
come over down the mountain or huge trees

and graciously accept the same from you…

The FIRST of the HOTELS in NATHIAGALI
was PINES HOTEL now re-named as Pines View Hotel…
and there are scores of hotels, guest houses, chalets
and self service apartments available on rates
ranging from Rs.5000 to Rs.50,000 per night! during
season which goes from JUNE through en of August or early Sept.

You cant go to Nathiagali during February through en March due
to road blocks/landslides on account of heavy snowfall.

It is not safe to travel to Nathiagali from Murree or Abbotabad
at night…owing to reports that wild Boar and Leopards
frequent the roads at night hunting for their food…!

Khush Rahein aur apna haseen mulk zaroor dekhein

DRIVE THROUGH ATM IN PAKISTAN

In 1984, the National Bank of Pakistan
was the first bank in Pakistan
to provide DRIVE THROUGH ATM facility
to its customers at its Clifton Branch.

Due to its poor maintenance, the facility didn’t last long!

AFTER the immense success of ATMs in Pakistan,
it was UNITED BANK LIMITED which introduced
the DT-ATM service alongside LINK-1 facility
(Link1 being a consortium of several banks joining hands
to provide their customers the usage of the ATMs
at each bank…)

In 2005, UBL’s Karachi Region, under my administration,
introuced the DRIVE THROUGH ATM facility
***at its North Nazimabad Branch which ***
proved to be an immense success…

Following its mission statement;
“WHERE YOU COME FIRST”

***UBL has, on 22nd April-2008, ***
installed its 2nd Drive Through ATM
at its JINNAH AVENUE BRANCH-ISLAMABAD
which has been welcomed immensely by ISLOO-ites!

Some pics I took on the inauguration of the DT-ATM

Of the 400,000 words in the English language, the working journalist
is accredited with use of the largest number, something less than 20,000.

Clergymen, Lawyers and Doctors, use an average of about 10,000 words.

Skilled workers of ordinary education know about 5000, the farm laborers
about 1600, the sciences and professions (banking etc) have large numbers of words the layman never hears of. For instance, medical men and women must know the names of 433 muscles, 193 veins, 707 arteries, 500 pigments, 295 poisons, 109 tumors, 700 tests, over 200 diseases, and over 1300 bacteria.

Yet with all these words, think of the people who still have trouble expressing themselves. Think of the people who constantly wonder what they are all about...

Rana Hasan…
…is a totally self taught young guitarist from Lahore City, Pakistan, started playing guitar at 18, influenced by the great rock/bluesmen Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. By the turn of the century he had new influences Yngwie Malmsteen, Todd “T.J.” Helmerich, Rusty Cooley, Greg Howe and he went heavily into learning the shred techneques.

***In 2005, Rana won Best Talent Award Scholarship from Berklee College of Music, Boston, but could not take up the offer. Rana has gone on to work as a freelance session guitarist, music producer by artists of many different genre and teaches guitar at his home studio. ***

The trouble tree
**
**The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just
finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour
of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused
to start.
While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited
me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused
briefly at a small tree, touching tips of the branches with both hands.
When opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His
tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity
got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having
troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, troubles don't belong in
the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the
tree every night when I come home. *
*
***Then in the morning I pick them up again."
"Funny thing is," he smiled,
"when I come out in the morning to pick 'em
up, there ain't nearly as many
as I remember hanging up the night before.

THE FUTURE!
Cashless transactions will mean the end of
“grace periods.”
Cash exchanges will gradually be
replaced by real-time “fractal” transactions—i.e., instant
automatic payment to everyone involved in a purchase,
from producer to distributor to retailer. Wireless handheld
devices will process and distribute money to all of
the recipients instantaneously, splitting the transaction
like a fractal and avoiding the delays of non-cash money
transactions such as checks and credit-card payments
.

Fashions:
Clothes That Make the Futurist
To prepare for any journey, we like to know what
we’ll wear. So here’s what fashionable futurists (or

Outfits and accessories that are
smart, sensitive, and sweet (or stinky):
Researchers in smart fabrics and intelligent

fashion industry to bring us color-changing
jeans, evening wear that emits different
scents as the mood alters, undergarments that
monitor our vital signs, and built-in communications
networks that could keep us safer.
—Patrick Tucker, “Smart Fashion,”

Petroleum-free clothing: Synthetic
fabrics will be made using organic
sources such as corn, rice, sugarcane
residue, and grasses rather than
petroleum. The fabric will also
be biodegradable. —Tomorrow in Brief

Nanocosmetics: Nano-
engineered particles could pack
more punch in tomorrow’s cosmetics
bags, adding bug repellants, sunscreens,

our blushes and skin creams. But critics warn that the widespread
use of carbon fullerenes (buckyballs) in such products
may pose dangerous environmental and health risks.

WORLD’s RICHEST WOMEN

OPRAH
Those honorable traits plus extraordinary wealth make these fascinating women especially worthy of our admiration–and envy. They range from the ‘Queen of Media,’ Oprah Winfrey to women you’ve never heard of, including the world’s richest woman whose wealth is almost ten times more than Oprah’s $2.5 billion.
In honor of these women, FORBES selected the dozen they’d most like to be, or at least meet.

Liliane Bettencourt
$22.9 billion
France
Daughter of L’Oreal founder Eugene Schueller, a man who is said to have a checkered past with wartime ties to the Nazi regime, Liliane is the world’s richest woman, thanks to her controlling stake in the cosmetics giant. She has held the stock for more than four decades.

Cristina Green

$8.4 billion
United Kingdom
Glamorous wife of retailing billionaire Philip Green whose stable of brands includes Topshop and British Home Stores. Known for playing hostess at star-studded galas the couple throw at their mansion in Monaco.

Begunham Dogan Faralyali

$1 billion
Turkey
Daughter of Turkey’s richest media-mogul family. Began her career as an Arthur Andersen consultant in New York and later advised Europe’s leading media and technology firms.

Heidi Horten
$3.7 billion
Austria
Austria’s ‘merry widow’ inherited an estimated $1 billion fortune from late husband, retailer Helmut Horten, in 1987. Divides her time between homes in Switzerland, Austria and the Bahamas.

Hind Hariri
$1.1 billion
Lebanon
Daughter of late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, inherited a stake in family’s construction, media and banking holdings. At age 24, she is the youngest female billionaire and the second-youngest billionaire in the world.
