Astaghfirullah! MalcolmX was not the founder of the Nation of Islam, he was the man who initiated the process of changing most members of Nation of Islam to Sunni Islam!!!!
A short history of recent black Islam in the USA
Nation of Islam was founded in 1930 by a guy called Wallace Muhammad. He preached a mixture of black nationalism with bits of Islam, creating a new, deviant belief. Part of it was that whites and blacks could not live in harmony.
Malcolm X became an adeherent of Nation of Islam in the late 1940s in jail. Upon his release he became the sect's most visible champion. Around 1960 several Sunni Muslims encouraged Malcolm X to learn more about Islam, and he converted and immediately went for Hajj.
During hajj he saw the equal treatment of whites and blacks (in Makkah) for the first time in his life and he realised that his earlier views were wrong and that Islam could bring whites and blacks and all people together.
Upon his return he turned into an opponent of Nation of Islam and began preaching rejection of their political views and Sunni Islam as the correct religious view. For this, Nation of Islam sent 3 assassins who made him achieve shahadat (inshallah).
In the years following his death, Nation of Islam's leaders officially rejected their previous teachings and recommended the entire sect to convert to Sunni Islam. Most did so; however, a minority disagreed and re-founded Nation of Islam as the organization that is is today.
As a side note, 2 of the 3 Nation of Islam assassins who killed Malcolm X converted to Sunni Islam themselves later in life. The last one did not convert, and instead joined the refounded deviant movement and became a prominent leader amongst them.

Just a random thought - Who decides where are you born, your parents, your religion? Does any human have a hand in deciding any of these things? If this is god's will, do you think he has made a mistake, and that a human intervention is necessary to convert him to some other religion and ways of living? Aren't humans trying to un-do or re-do what God had already decided and acted upon and challenge his creation and decision?

Timur lane and moghuls were also Mongols, but the way a brutal army which brought Islamic world to its knees converted to islam which I think is unprecedented.

Timur Lane was Muslim. he claimed to be descendent of Genghiz, but some historians don’t approve this claim. Timur was Muslim, but he weakened many Muslim states on the name pf expansion. A muslim more interested in building towers of human heads (irrespective of their religion) than building towers of mosques.

Good question. Although, beyond scope of this forum.
People believe in a particular faith also believe that God chose that faith for all the human beings and thats why they strive for conversion of others to that faith.

I wasn't talking about any one religion, I meant all the religions that strive for conversion. I somehow never understood this thing - faith/belief challenging God's decision. Anyway, to each his own :)
