Mohammed (saww) was often insulted during his life time, but never did he allow the insulters to be killed. One famous example is someone who was even coming to kill him, then turned Muslim, if I remember well, that is. Instead of killing all who insulted him, Mohammed (saww) used arguments and logic to teach people his views and bring the message of Allah.

If even he himself didn’t allow killing, then I don’t see why we, his followers, should.

If these promoters of violence after publishing of rubbish material like Satanic Verses, cartoons, read out translation of passages from Quran which deals with the comments of Munifiqeen and Kuffar e Makka and then tell their audience what was the reaction of the Prophet and his companion at that time, they can’t ignite the fire which consume life of innocent people.

Take this ayah from Surah Muanfiqoon as an example:
