For those of you outside of Pakistan, how much do you interact with non- Pakistani/South Asian people on a daily basis?
I would say that I spend 95% of my time with non-South Asians. Between work, chilling with the mates and following my interests, I don’t get that kinda exposure.
Of course going to Pakistan or going to family reunions changes that percentage.
Unfortunately or fortunately my family is Pakistani so I interact with Pakistani people on a daily basis and for more hours then I interact with people of other nationalities. :p
all my family are in pakistan. Most of the people in my school were white, which was fine, got on really well with them. However, as they grew up they kinda went their separate ways and used to go out drinking. In university I met more pakistanis/muslims but the majority of my friends were oriental.
Apart from my family probably 90% of the people I interact with are non-Pakistani/south Asian. The reason is there is not a very big south Asian population in my city but a much larger Arab population. So my interaction is split half way with Arabs and other non-Pakistanis.
almost 98% of my interactions are with nons most of the people around me are hispanic, persians, germans, etc it's pretty diverse
although i do love seeing and interacting with desis. i would not mind living with a bunch of desi girls in an apartment but there aren't a whole lot of unmarried desi women around me.
When I was in UK for uni I met South Asians (probably 60%) on a daily basis, South Asians have a big community in London and nearly 30-40% of the students at uni were South Asian too. Depends on the area really, I worked in Staines for a while and there I'd sometimes never meet a south asian all day.
probably around 80% the people at work are all non-pakistani's the only time i interact with pakistani's is when i'm with my family or talking to my best friend
