I'm a gori married to a desi guy....I guess I did raise a few eyebrows occasionally. Some of my faux-pas...
I LOVED the food so I just ate and ate. Even at parties. Three or sometimes 4 plates full of food. Urp!! lol!!
Gave kiss-on the cheek to close relatives of my hubby as greeting and farewell.
Went into a shop, was told to keep my mouth shut but I didnt. I really liked these little handmade ceramic jewelry boxes and just had to admire them. My accent and english language effectively quadrupled the price so I didnt get them.
Otherwise things went really well (I think)...I mean I dont speak urdu so I cant know whats being said but other than those things I think everything was rosy.

There were more than a few raised eyebrows, but I think it's more accepted now than "back then". People used to talk about me in front of me before they realized that I understand them. I don't talk when we go shopping anymore, because I've gotten the "special price" too many times. I find the touching and stares the most difficult to deal with.

Well my hubby REFUSES to step foot in Karachi-Every1s told him he’ll get kidnapped or something cos hes British so he will never go there neither will he let me take our daughter till shes older anyway! Id love to take him cos he’ll stand out like a sore thumb being 6’4 and blond! I just think it would be really funny and he’d love the food but he refuses!

Recently, I met a Pakistani muslim HeadTeacher of a Primary school (not of muslim faith) happily married to a British white. I think she could be the only Muslim Pakistani headteacher in whole UK. I know Muslim faith schools do have muslim HeadTeachers but first time get to know in a Gov. school. I already have a friend primary school teacher of Pakistani origin married to a white Brit.

well we got married last december in pakistan :--) we were there for almost 3 weeks and everything went great (except the incident of benazir and us being sick for most of the stay)
