Mods are not prophets and GS is not on any political or religious mission.
PaKpatriot1 has slightly described the GS atmosphere well in a way;
This is a public forum where people air their views. The day to day or post to post running is done according to forum rules, regulations and policies. Whatever is wrong or highly lacks truth is dealt with according to forum policies and rules.
So this is a place where debate, arguments and discussions take place. Everyone takes part at own will and with full knowledge that member views are not forum views and all are responsible for their behavior/opinion and ability to indulge in debate/argument and face opposition/criticism for their views/behavior themselves.
As far as the anti-Islam sentiment goes. It’s really not anti-Islam because most of the ppl you debate with here are Muslims themselves, and are also Pakistanis. It’s the fanatic/extremist versions that people speak openly against.
Of course it is wrong to talk of razing any building let alone a mosque. It’s wrong to talk of killing anyone; be it the president, army chief, any minister or any mullah for that matter.
But we have all such sentiments being aired by various schools of thought here. Some people are better refined in their expression, some are crude; its their choice, and the forum mgmt comes in only when there’s blatant violation of rules.
In case of the anti-mullah concern here, tell me;
Who talks of suicide bombings and killing innocent people and damaging property? The so called mullahs you’re asking everyone to respect.
Who’s taking law and law enforcement in own hands in the name of his interpretation of Islam?
Who’s hijacking govt officials, property citizens, challenging the govt & authority, damaging public property, stirring fear in citizens, harassing ppl in markets, homes?
Who’s hiding behind children and women as shield?
Who’s strangling privay and choice of everyday life?
These so called mullahs and their distorted version of Islam is less respected because of them! They lose their own respect, and alsosmudge Islam and its image. They should be held responsible for all bad name given to Islam.
Because the truth is, Islam meaning peace, is a beautiful religion preaching tolerance and self righteousness and correctness above all. Islam is a complete religion and philosophy respected by all.
