Intellectual Intercourse

Re: Intellectual Intercourse

When someone is going to come along on a public forum and begin posting directly towards me in a negative manner (“at the risk of pissing you off demesne” etc) I will post in a manner which you may construe as me “getting worked up”. Yes I am not marrying you, and it does not bother me how you think about relationships. You’re entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to my opinion that such ideas will get a person nowhere close to building a successful relationship. When you can prove me wrong by example, you may come up with a rebuttal to that statement.

As for badges of validation, since life partners are being discussed, and since your opening post is about marriage, and I am presuming a successful and** happy** marriage, you pinned that badge on me yourself. Yes, thank you. In these two areas I have been blessed.

As for Stoppit and whether life would teach her otherwise, let’s wait for circumstances to prove that wrong. Life does prove idealists and nonconformists wrong. That is a basic fact. Life isn’t a bed of roses for everyone, and no marriage, love or otherwise, is without ups and downs. Any person unwilling to compromise will learn that the hard way.

**As for Bob’s unwed mother, and indulging jackrabbits who call weddings off because of lack of a big O:

a) the wedding was not called off
b) in case you haven’t noticed, I am a big propagator of making marriages work rather than kicking in the towel because things got a little bit tough.

I’m sure neither Bob nor the people concerned over there give two hoots as to your sympathy towards their situation. And your allusion to that was absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for, as are most of the things you post.**
