These pictures were fwded to me through email, and I don’t know where they were taken, or when.
But I do know that in recent months and weeks, there’s been quite a few protests of this sort, i know there were a few articles about how John Manley, the canadian minister of foreign affairs aligned/sympathized with these movements.
I know of a few jewish organizations that disagree with the zionist occupation of palestine, ie. the state of israel, namely ‘Not In My Name’ http://www.nimn.org and ‘Jews Against Israel’.
In regards to the queries questioning the difference between judaism 'n zionism, for a quick answer i’m going to quote a line from an essay at nimn.org, ‘Zionism represents a total and radical break with the beliefs and practices of the Jewish people throughout history.’ That gives a glimpse of why some Jews find themselves at odds with Zionism. Yet, Zionism is technically defined as a ‘jewish’ movement that arose in the late 19th century in response the growing anti-semitism in order to reestablish a jewish homeland. Hmmio i think maybe i should open a thread about that.

Much like, during the struggle for Pakistan, virtually all the religious parties and leaders opposed Pakistan and Jinnah. They accused Jinnah of being a bad muslim and that Pakistan will cause immense problems for muslims who remain in India blah blah. Majority still supported Muslim League and hence Pakistan came into being.

Later on, some of those people became part of Pakistan but someone mentioned that these pics were two months old. I mean jews hating Israel after 50 odd years. What is wrong? I can understand muslims living in India having grudge against Pakistan but these guys seems aren't forced upon and can happily live wherever they want. No?

Lets not go into that discussion, since this thread is about jews and I just shared a thought which I was reminded of.
However FYI there are still plenty of people in Pakistan, who live there, have a wonderful life, are big leaders and have made millions in Pakistan, and they still proudly claim that Pakistan is a mistake. You can find plenty of these people if you look at some of the local publications in NWFP and Sindh. I am sure they have their own reasons. Just as everyone has.
There are lots of orthodox jews in US and Israel. Surely all (or most) of them are not against Israel. This still must be those who are smaller in number and away from mainstream jews.

Assume???? It doesn't make sense if jews are called jews if they support Israel (a country that established few decades ago) whereas the judaism is so many centuries old.
