Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

QUETTA: PPP Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, who is the younger brother of Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, said on Monday that Baloch insurgents had contacted him and they wanted to peacefully join the mainstream politics.

“Baloch insurgents have established contacts with me and they have expressed their desire to peacefully join the mainstream politics,” he said.

He said he had informed the prime minister about his contact with the insurgents, adding he could take further initiative after receiving a reply from the premier.

He said that old policies about Balochistan were still being pursued and if the situation did not change, he could also think of going to the mountains like others. He said judiciary should also play its role to protect democracy and national integrity.

Mr Raisani criticised the role of Interior Minister Rahman Malik and said that anti-Pakistan forces would be encouraged if the government did not take notice of allegations levelled by Dr Zulfikar Mirza against him.

He claimed that Mr Malik had always sabotaged efforts made to normalise the situation in Balochistan. He said Mr Malik talked about reconciliation in Karachi, but hurled threats of using “danda” in Balochistan and this aroused suspicions about his role.

He demanded that elements who wanted to dismember Pakistan should be tried under Article 6 of the Constitution.—Saleem Shahid

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

Rehman Malik is surely working for someone who don’t want to see Pakistan stable, being Zardari’s pet, i don’t know how long we have to see this guy at such important position…

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

This article is 100% false. Yeah NOW they want to be peaceful when their daddy USA is leaving Afghanistan. What about the thousands of innocent non-balochs they butchered in balochistan during the last 5 years. What about the destruction of the social fabric of society at their hands. They are only saying this because ISI has a foot on their tail and they are just looking for ways to gain some breathing space so that they can regroup and start the next independence movement. You people have no idea about the hatred they have for other ethnicities and for Pakistan in general. There is absolutely no way they are looking for peace. I hope they rot in hell !!

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

^^^Now that is something interesting

IK is all for talking to Talibans who have killed everyone and got us bad name on the planet, but when it comes to talk to some balochs who want to repent... it is out of question????

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

Snowy winter is right as the person lives there and get more knowledge of the province than other. We already know how the industrial area in Hub was destroyed by these people.

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

it is being said that in before the final episode of fall of Dhaka, some of the groups and their leaders wanted to repent, they wanted to come back to Pakistan but the idiot Yahya along with Bhuto used the analogy that they have done damage and now because they are on back-foot we should not talk to them.. result... they went back to rebel forces and we all know what happened then...

These most of these baloch rebels if want to come back to national politics then so be it, let then give up the guns and let them have their voices and concerned answered on the table and through peaceful means... why do we want to push them to level where they find no country to live and are forced to play pawn in hands of enemies...

If they want to repent, let them come back, after all, MQM have done lot more damage then these Balochs have done, the magnitude of financial losses Pakistan faced due to violent means adopted by MQM and others in Karachi have caused more damage then these rebels have caused... and same goes for body count....

Although I am all for let them back, but won't be trusting them, all should be done is let them give up armed resistance and let somebody else grow as a leader of national level...

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

Despite all this MQM is not in a position to separate lower Sindh.

Re: Insurgents want to join national politics: Lashkari

So is BLA, i am against them, but the rights they are fighting for were denied by the federation and should be granted... now that govt is doing something about it and there are many projects going on in Balochistan by the army, if these people want to give up violence then why not and by that i don't mean to have these people in govt... let them live in peace and let them know if they went back to violence then it is not only them who will face the brutality but their whole family will suffer...
