Try not to drink anything with caffiene in after 4pm
Don’t eat heavy meals before you sleep
Try to do some light excercise in the day to tire you out, or go for a walk
If you do feel hot, have a fan on it’s lowest setting. The sound and breeze of the fan normally gives me a comforting feeling and sends me to sleep.
Have an interesting magazine or book handy under your pillow to read before you sleep, it normally tires my eyes and makes me fall asleep quicker.
Finally to to keep up your daily prayers as every muslim should. It relaxes your mental state and eases any tension.
Sleep in the way of the Sunnah of Rasulallah Saw in a state of wudu, on your right hand side.
Recite some dua’s before you sleep. The sunnah supplication before sleeping are as follows:
Words of remembrance for morning and evening, and
If you wake up or stir during the night have a glass of water handy in case you feel hot. It will cool your temprature and relax you. Open your window a little if you feel tense and allow some fresh air into your room. Also recite:
Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahul-Waahidul-Qahhaaru, Rabbus-samaawaati wal’ardhi wa maa baynahumal-'Azeezul-Ghaffaaru.
There is none worthy of worship but Allah , the One , the Victorious , Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving.

If your afraid to go to sleep, feeling lonely or depressed recite this:
'A’oothu bikalimaatil-laahit-taammaati min ghadhabihi wa 'iqaabihi, wa sharri 'ibaadihi, wa min hamazaatish-shayaateeni wa 'an yahdhuroon.
I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His slaves and from the taunts of devils and from their presence.
