Inside 9/11-National Geographic show--

Did anyone watch this?

It’s very interesting, informative, looking back into the late 1980s and where many of the main characters were and how they came to be what they are today…BUT very difficult to watch…

Very strong portrayal of Muslims in a negative lite…i

t wants to absolve itself by using the term radical Islam or radical cleric or radical whatever…but still, the sense of foreboding from a group that is willing to fight for each other and are spread all over the world…

to be honest it’s hard to watch…

And very scary…it worries me especially since this is National Geographic..aren’t they usually above such bias!!!

Further, it worries me because maybe we’re ignoring the fact that the “western” world is become so anti-muslim… and that this is the world I’m going to raise my kids in…

Re: Inside 9/11-National Geographic show–

yep, it did look more like something that CNN would produce. Not something I would have expected from NGC or even Discovery. Btw, in the end did you read the part “dedicted to the victims to 9/11 including the two NGC employees”.

Re: Inside 9/11-National Geographic show--

watched the show. Did you see how they protrayed Pakistan?

They portrayed Pakistan as some really backward oppresive nation harboring terrosists. Whenever they showed Pakistan, they would show the slums and rallies supports bin laden. I expected a little more from Nat Geographic, their shows are usually a lot more liberal.

Nevertheless, the show was very intresting.

I saw parts of this - you may be a bit too sensitive - did not find any anti-muslim or anti-pakistan statements that hasn't been made a 100 times before. When they're reportilng about the bomb maker (WTC basement bomb) being from Pakistan, or when he is taking a flight after planting the bomb in WTC to Pakistan, what do you expect them to say other than that?

Similarly, as soon as he arrived from Pakistan he takes a cab (looks for a Pakistani cabbie specifically btw according to that report) and goes directly to a mosque - how else can they say it?

Guys, there is a serious problem and it's not going to be solved by walking and egg shells

Muslims need to work to strengthen their media.
