^ ^ The only thing ISI manages is quality control throughout bharat... :D
Now back to the topic... indian authorities say that they already informed IATA and they followed the guidelines set by them... In addition they informed indonesia about the test over a week ago..
it looks like the indonesian govt was not able to convey the information to the required agencies.
Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile
Not just the Indonesian's.

Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile

Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile
I have a major objectin to these planes flying all over the sky. Whenever I want to fire of a rocket (I have hydaulic, spring loaded, methane powered and organizally grown rockets - none of which pollute btw) these planes come in the way. I am thinking about summoning the ambassadors of all nations to register a protest.

On Thursday it was announced that the Agni III - India's longest range missile - had been successfully test-fired.

excellent news. thanks for bringing attention to this, silly billy. :)
as for the indonesian plane...so some air garuda flight had to turn around and wait 4 hours, most likely due to indonesian negligence in the first place. boo hoo.
and from this we have silly billy's wet dreams about an "international incident" and "huge embarrassment"?
despite what a sensationalist headline might lead the sheep to believe, the pilots did not turn back after being grazed by the missile or seeing it fly in front of the cockpit like in some arnold schwarzenegger movie.....they were simply told to turn back by defence officials and air traffic authorities.
Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile
Damn ... how come a missile flying at an altitude of 90kms tried to knock off jet flying at 10kms altitude. It seems like BS by Indonesians to me.
Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile
Good to see BBC has hidden this story away.
We do not want any anti-Indian publicity. India does more for the British economy than many other South Asian countries.

BS from Air India as well?
Re: Inodensian Airliner avoids Indian test missile
there must have been a warning before the testing to the air traffic control centre of the area, they have to give warnings even when theyre launching satellites

Missile test forces 2 Indonesian planes to change course - Indonesia
An Indian missile test has forced two Garuda Indonesia flights heading to Saudi Arabia to divert course and return to Jakarta. Earlier reports said one jet had been forced to turn back.** But an Indonesian foreign ministry spokesman Kristianto Legowo now says two flights were affected by Thursday’s test. “The ballistic test that was done by India caused two Garuda flights to Jeddah and Riyadh to re-route to Jakarta. We are trying to attain clarification from India about notification,” Mr Legowo said. “We will immediately seek clarification from the Indian ambassador here.” He says such information was usually passed on to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation.** He did not say how close the missile was to the planes. India successfully tested its longest-range ballistic missile, the Agni III, which is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead more than 3,000 kilometres. Our Indonesian corresondent Geoff Thompson reports, that on the same day a Garuda Boeing 737 with a punctured rear tyre circled for two hours above an airport in South Sulawesi before landing safely. The tyre is thought to have blown out during take-off from Jakarta.
