characters have a lot to do, with philosophies.
sometimes, things about personal attributes as in character, are an ellusive presence. you look for them, they do not appear obvious, but when you least expect, they show through.
what does this kind of disillusionary glimmer holds for a thinking mind?
I once read a translation of a Chinese Proverb. It went something like that
"Just like the light, which comes through small holes in a room, tells you its morning, it is the small gestures, words and expressions of a person which tell you his/her inner character."
In my limited experience, it has worked quite well.
