I’ve been coming across a lot abt broken relationships, marriages on gs and around me recently. i see despair and hopelessness all around me.
makes me wonder how these ppl cope. when inner peace is lost and there are so many whys on their minds. regrets? if onlys? sighs?
the contentment of life is basically abt good relationships with ppl we love, no? nothin beats the warmth of love to take da blues away. correct me if i’m wrong.
the way i see it, God takes away this inner peace of ours so that we can remember him as we never did before.
its like we know what we should do and what is right for us but the mind keep wandering to insignificant matters which depresses us. all the whys and ifs keep playing on da mind. each time u need to snap out and focus again.
how do u stay focused after going thru a painful fall?
Re: Inner peace
Personally, my feeling is that inner peace cannot be found in relationships. For me, inner peace is only achieved when you start getting contended with your own self. Love, joys, sorrows, etc are momentary feelings and cannot bring inner peace. IMHO.
Re: Inner peace
^ makes perfect sense to me.

awaiting more input from the kind ppl of gs
Re: Inner peace
Only those people are able to cope who are ready to concentrate on the positive aspects and forget the negative aspects after learning a lesson from their experiences. They are determind not to think of ifs and whys but strive to achieve their aim in life. They believe in the saying:
You cannot change the past but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future.

You are right "only" if the good relationship was based on "Sincerity" without any materialistic purpose in mind, otherwise no relationship would give contentment in life. The warth of love is good but it should be honest and true, otherwise it can give contentment only temporarily
Well said. Allah says in the Quran. Ila bizikrillahi tatmainulquloob
Translation: The contentment of hearts only lies in remembering Allah.
( Other materialistic things can only serve temporarily, not for true satisfaction of soul.)
Example: Materialistic sources of satisfaction are like a mirage in the desert. You see water from a distance and feel that it might satisfy your thirst of desires, but when you come close to it, there is no water (thus no satisfaction) Than you realize that all the attraction was just an illusion.
But prayers and remembering of Allah serves as a true source of satisfaction which satisfies the thirst of soul, and is long lasting.

Focus on positives comes from determination, self belief and confidence not only in your own abilities but also in the help of your God after sincere efforts to ones level best are made.
