Ramiz Raja’s father passes away

Islamabad, April 22
The Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja was bereaved as his father Raja Saleem Akhtar passed away in Lahore on Thursday.
Akhtar, a former bureaucrat and father of Test cricketers Wasim Raja and Ramiz Raja, died this afternoon after a cardiac arrest, a press release by the PCB said today.
Akhtar, 80, leaves behind his widow and three sons.
A former member of the Board of Revenue, Home Secretary and Commissioner of Bahawalpur, Akhtar suffered the heart attack in the early hours today and breathed his last at the local hospital.
His funeral will be held on Friday.
Akhtar’s death was mourned by Chairman of the PCB, Shaharyar Khan who expressed his deepest condolences to his family.
May Allah give the Family patience and courage to overcome this tragedy.
I sympathise with Rameez as I myself lost my father in January 2004 and my mother is still in Iddah, (which I believe is a stone age ritual and should be done away with).
Thank God my mom had me, I worry about the Expats whose parents are far away in this kind of situations.
May Allah Grant peace and Solitude to Rameez and his Family.
it is weird but one of our guppie was talking to Rameez on the phone yesterday when he received the news of his fathers death on his mobile. We have been trying to get Rameez to join us on KK for a Q&A session with the guppies. I had tried a few times and than asked Saby to help me out as he lives in Lahore. Saby was talking to Rameez yesterday when the news came through.
