does it matter if you dont really get along with your in laws or find them extermly fake and superficial ? ia m not married this is just a question.
how important is it to gt along with your in laws or for them to be “nice” for the lack of a better word…

It’s important. Just remember one day someone will call your parents in laws too. Don’t do anything stupid with your in laws because we all know what karma is like…

No, it doesnt matter how they are. You can’t change them unfortunately
Mine are very fake, just recently found out too. and I just keep my distance now, on the advice of my hubby. So if your husband is aware, that will help majorly as he won’t unnecessarily take sides and cause further tension

It matters, and it is important. However, for the likes of you, i suggest you put your pre-condition first before getting serious with someone - that you will not stay with in laws in any case. Makes it easier to short list potentials.

Well in-laws come in handy when you have kids. They give unconditional love to their grand kids. My
MIL is often found following kids around with food. When I am asleep in the morning she gives them breakfast.
When we have to go out to watch a movie or something, she happily look after them.
She is not an angel but i choose to ignore her negative aspects. I am not perfect either, but she puts up with me.
One has to be patient and tolerant to maintain good relationships.

relatively important to get along with inlaws. you go into a marriage (esp a desi marriage) knowing that you’re marrying the whole khandaan, the least you can do is put in the effort. doesn’t matter if they’re fake or whatever, it won’t kill you to remain polite and civil at best.
