**World number two Rafael Nadal hopes to have recovered from the knee injury that forced him out of the Australian Open within a matter of days.**The injury forced the 23-year-old defending champion to retire against Andy Murray in the quarter-final with the Spaniard losing 6-3 7-6 (7-2) 3-0.
“I just have a little tweak and I hope to have recovered in a week or even less,” said Nadal.
The Mallorcan is due to undergo test overseen by doctor Angel Ruiz Cotorro.
Nadal believes the injury is a recurrence of the problem that forced him out of the defence of his Wimbledon title and led to him being absent from the ATP Tour for around two months last year.

He withdrew from Wimbledon complaining of tendinitis, but after losing to Murray the six-time Grand Slam winner batted away questions that his aggressive style of play leaves him open to serious injuries.
“I think I changed the style to play,” said Nadal. "If you see my matches in 2005 or 2004, 2006, I run a lot compared to now.
"So today I played against one of the best players of the world, and I think I wasn’t running more than him. I played aggressively.
“I played to have the control of the point, a lot of the time with the forehand and the backhand, returning aggressively. If you see my matches three years ago, this didn’t happen.”
