Edit: Google says its a game. Movie would be better though.

It does look like a movie, but while playing, you get to be an actor.

This looks something like Second Life where you become a part of the game reality. You make decisions and your progress is based on those decisions and choices. Being a "closed-beta" right now, you have to request an invite where they send you a code to activate your app to be able to play. I requested mine a little while ago, still waiting. I believe it takes a while.

Reading up on the reviews it looks like Niantic, for Google, has put this together to provide a game for its users but another way of mining data to use towards developing the pedestrian portion of their maps app. Wow. Way to go Google!

Did you hear? Pakistan is going to be the next Google zone, now that Kansas City is lit up with fiber. I'll post links later.

You have no idea how good it feels to hack a portal. My kids were with me today when we took a detour to find portals. Coming home, the husband was asking the cause for our delay, so my older one exclaims: “Dad, mom is an agent with the Resistance. She had to hack some portals. She’s trying to save the world.”

I’m sure they have some. Plus u can always suggest sites. In the US its mostly libraries and post-offices etc. I actually royally hacked a post office yesterday, destroying the Enlightened hold in that area :smiley:
