hi all i jus wana ask that i have an appointment with my midwife in november for the first time ,Just curious to ask what checkup she will be doing and how long wil it take.its my first time in uk so help will be appreciated.

what sort of check-up is it .. i'm guessing you are already pregnant as u said midwife? is it a scan or some other appointment?

yes MAHEEN ur right i am .Its my very first checkup with her.

She might do a Pap Smear.
Here in USA they do one early in pregnancy, don't know how things are over there in UK.

pap smear test is not usually done so early....the midwife will take your blood pressure,do a blood test and take a sample of urine too...she will ask you questions about your general health and your families health...then she will give you booklets about pregnancy and guide in what to eat etc..at least that was how it was for me...

i wasnt checked down below until i was about to go into labour.....so if thats what ur worried about, as i was, dont be....its not as intrusive as it is in the US....relax...
