what is it made of, what’s the recipe?
some days ago went to some restaurant in NJ (Guj I think) and they gave me this and it was quite good - layers of thin wafers separated by wax or some non-sticky paper. I brought home a box of it and finished it in one day.
And if someone knows a good place in NJ for such desi sweets let me know.

Re: Info on Bombay Halwai...?
That thing is called badami halwa. (or is it mahimi halwa) I forgot. But any Surati mithaiwala in NJ should be ok.
Re: Info on Bombay Halwai...?
Is that what Haldiraam sells in a box? Called papdi halwa or something. Don't recall the name of it. Not sure if that's what you are talking about. I have bought a box from the local indian store packaged by Haldiraam.
Re: Info on Bombay Halwai...?
Yes it is called papadi halwa. Haldiram is one of the leading mithaiwalas based in Nagpur. Surati Kapadia is also good. I love it.
