This is for all the couples out there trying to conceive and suffering in silence.
In western societies about 66% of couples conceive within the first year of trying. 17% conceive within the second year but about 17% will be infertile.
From childhood our expectations are that we will be parents and most of us take fertility for granted. You hear about other people that cannot have children but you never assume that you will be one of these people. Infertility doesn’t kill you but it hurts. The situation isn’t helped by comments from others such as ‘It’s about time you two started a family’ or ‘You’re not getting any younger you know’. You know it’s time, and yes, you are very aware of the years going by, thank you very much! Everyone around you seems to be getting pregnant but you feel inadequate.
Re: Infertility
thnxx 4 all,,but i wanna ask dat r u a doc?if yeas then plzz share the reasons of infertility n some more information..?
Re: Infertility
No I am not a doctor. Roughly a woman is infertile in about 50% of all infertile couples, while 30% of men are infertile in all infertile couples. In 20% both partners contribute equally.
In males the reasons can be low sperm count, no sperm in semen, poor quality of the sperm, or immunological problems.
In women it could be due to trouble with ovulation, tubal disease, endometrosis, uterine problems, problems with cervical mucus,or even due to miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

I wish this was a well known fact in Pakistan.. I absolutely despise the idea of husbands divorcing their wives, just because their wives couldn't produce a baby. :(
