Infant appetite

Ladies, I need some advise/tips about increasing an infant’s appetite please. I have 3 1/2 month old twins. One is mashallah fond of drinking milk, but his brother is the total opposite. I feed them 4oz. every 3 hrs.

He’s never hungry, i forcefully feed him and it takes him a good hr or 2 to finish his bottle. I m sooo frustrated and don’t know what to do. He’s half the size of his twin brother, and yet his dr. doesn’t seem to be concerned. (is this a good enough reason to change ped/dr.? Because I m so tempted to o that)

So please help me out with tips/totkas!

Please ignore any typos or grammar mistakes. I m using iPad and am super sleepy. Thanks!

Re: Infant appetite

Hello iPad friend. :D these things suck a formatting but are so cool otherwise.Anyway, really, don't worry too much. All kids are different and have different needs. If he doesn't have an underlying medical issue such a reflux, some infection, etc...then he'll catch up. If he's growing normAlly and reaching his milestones then he's fine.

Re: Infant appetite

if you're not feeling great with your paed, switch! i always say follow your mommy instincts and if you feel like things ain't right, look into it until you are satisfied.

p.s: formula is only good for an hour after its made if feeding has been started, so if its been longer than that, remember to make a new bottle.

Re: Infant appetite

Does he fall asleep when you are feeding him? Was he nursed at all and does he behave differently then?

Re: Infant appetite

^No, he does not fall asleep while being fed. In fact, he fights to get the bottle out of his mouth. He was nursed for 2 1/2 months, he was a fussy eater then as well, but he's gotten worst now.

Nikki, he doesn't have any medical issues like reflux or stomach infection, etc. He is growing at a normal rate. My issue with him is the amount of time it takes to feed him. By the time he's done it's almost time for his next feeding.

Sgc, I really am thinking about changing paed. My older twin has chest congestion. I can hear it in his chest when breaths. When he spits milks, I can see the mucus. But the paed says she can't hear it in his chest, so she's sending me to radiology for his chest x-ray, and to a cardiologist to get his heart checked out. I don't know why! I haven't made either appointment yet.
