Love has everything to do with communication, trust, and friendship and nothing to do with infaCtuation. Its been quite a long time since someone attracted me physically and intellectually. Physically speaking, someone like a young Elizabeth Taylor, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, and Madhubala are very attractive; intellectually someone like Arundhati Roy would keep my interest. I don't see myself falling in love with someone who has abundance of beauty but lacks mental power.
So far as infaCtuations are concerened, I still remember my first highschool crush on an English teacher Ms. Dorothy. I wonder if she's available.
Yup, true…love can apply to anyone or to God, family, pets, etc. but there are modifications and varying types and degrees of love. Heck I can even say that I love myself but this type of love is a feeling of being a very confident person who is comfortable with herself and her identity.
As Kaka mentioned and knowing myself, I am drawn to men who are successful, appreciate the finer things in life and have earned them or are in the process od earning them (rather than men who are fed by a silver spoon in their mouth), men who are intelligent, generous at heart, and have a nice sense of style. If a person embodies such qualities, I need look no further but I also know that perfection doesn’t exist, that you have to give a little to get a little back. However, I also refuse to settle for someone who will and never will be a good match for me, vice versa. As per your statement, perhaps some of us do look hard for love but tend to find it in all the wrong places. Not so sure. I do believe though wholeheartedly that my Prince Charming, the man who is meant for me, who suits me well, is out there and so it is just a matter of time insh’allah.
