Lets start with the Mumbai attack. The Pak foreign minister was actually in India, when the attack took place. Instead of using this opportunity to really work with the Zardari government to deal with the Jihadi menace, there was a lot of grand standing. If you want the LET dismantled, you need to provide the evidence. Instead, all we got was an ultimatum. I know for a fact, that the Indian establishment knew that there posturing was not going to produce any result, except that they could tell the average Indian how tough they have been with Pakistan.
The issue of Kashmir is distinct from say Murshidabad or the Lakshadweep, which are Muslim majority areas in India. It is disputed territory, not your land, and it needs to be resolved.
Now there are things we in Pakistan could learn from India, particularly with regards to the stable political set up and abolishment of the feudal system. But I can’t point these out to my Pakistani co-nationals, if the Indian army is killing kids and raping women in the Kashmir valley.
