Indus and Muziq

Why are they showing so much Indian music? Ever since we got the Indus music channel here, it’s been 90% Indian music. Muziq used to be way more Pakistani, and this week I’ve been watching, it’s now mostly Indian too.

AAG is the only one playing Pakistani music.

I’m sorry. It’s world cup season, plus, if you morons at ARY and Indus forgot, Indians are stabbing us in the back lately, so dunno…maybe you should be more patriotic and show music from your own country. Half the stuff that’s coming out there in underground music with legit videos - it’s not even being shown on these channels.

I don’t even recommend anyone actually buying these channels. You can get your fill of pakistani music online, because these idiots don’t even show Pakistani music.

Re: Indus and Muziq

Those channels are still stuck in the 1980 and early 1990's MTV when they used to have VJs and such. As in everything in Pakistan, change comes 20 years later, so I think by 2030 those channels will get rid of VJs.

And, no one cares to listen to Pakistani music, so that is why they show Indian music. Yeah I am going to get flamed for this, but this is the truth.

Re: Indus and Muziq

:chai: where did you get that from?

Re: Indus and Muziq

Then why don’t those channels show Pakistani music? Yeah there is such a huge demand for Pakistani music that even Pakistani music channels are not showing Pakistani music.

Re: Indus and Muziq

Are you an Indian or Pakistani? (just asking)

Re: Indus and Muziq

Pakistani.

Re: Indus and Muziq

Are you by any chance Bollywood obsessed?
Because from all the Pakistani people i know, only the super die hard bolly fans would make a comment such as 'nobody cares about Pakistani music'.

As for why these two channels show more indian music, i wouldnt know, maybe they are india obsessed as well...most probably

Re: Indus and Muziq

No, I am not bollywood obsessed.

Re: Indus and Muziq

i dont

i think the reason is that ppl are more into bolly music thats why pak music channels end up playing more bolly songs. now why ppl are more into bolly music is because of two reasons personal preference (because they like listening to it) and since channels dont play pakistani songs so they dont know about the pakistani tracks. plus these channels probably know that if they are not gonna play indian songs then customers will simply switch to the other channel since you have soooo many channels in the cable system. (aur channels ne tou yeh dekhna hai ke raqam kahan batori ja sakti hai)

a pakistani music channel should play more pak music. they can do one or more progs where viewers can request indian songs.

I am just dying for any channel to start a program where they can start playing all dramas, ads, songs, shows from 90s that used to come on ptv and stn. and i will instantly record everything. aag tv used to play this program called aag classics and they used to play songs from 90s. haye

this (was mad about this prog and LOVED it phir kambhakhat channel hi chala gaya )

Re: Indus and Muziq

As far as I know, AAG and Muziq channel have record companies and hence only play their own songs. Currently AAG has a monopoly in the music industry (90% of artists are signed to their record label) whereas channels like the Muziq don't have enough artists to show so they fill the void with bollywood songs.

Re: Indus and Muziq

^ ok explains it

Re: Indus and Muziq

ok that explains it. thanks.

btw are they allowed to play old pakistani pop songs/film songs etc? i mean would they need any one's permission to play them through their channel?

Re: Indus and Muziq

^ I do remember the muziq showing old songs of bands such as junoon and vital signs. It's a shame they have quit showing that too...

Re: Indus and Muziq

Thats coz no new music is being made in Pakistan. It stopped around three years ago. Yes singers are working but that music boom is over. They make money not just through their albums but through concerts mainly and they cant do concerts coz of the security reasons. Watch interviews of Pakistani singers and see how depressed n disappointed they are.

Re: Indus and Muziq

I think that a handful of noteworthy albums are released per year but any profits made are small due to piracy.

In reference to the main record labels in Pakistan - EMI Pakistan’s makes a welcome return:
