No. Once they give you pitocin, you won’t be able to leave the hospital until baby is born. Since pitocin is meant to induce labor by increasing contractions, it’s not going to slow down labor. And the doctors aren’t going to allow you to several DAYS! If the induction isn’t working, they’ll recommend a C-section.

On the other hand, in SOME women, epidural has been known to slow down labor. Again, every woman reacts differently to these meds to don’t assume that you will have the exact same reaction to these medications as someone else.
