Just a review for others .. thought it might be helpful …
First shock that came to me was that most of my pots and pans that I thought were stainless steel didnt work on it … Aluminium and Copper are two things that dont work on Induction. Then on research I found out that most pots that are stainless steel have copper or some other thing mixed in their base and therefore I need 100% stainless steel pots to work on the hob!
I am still trying to get used to the wave like cooking process … Food gets cooked very nicely and beautifully , but I can clearly see when the magnetic wave hits the pot .. its not constant .. anyway, I have already started making my roti’s and paratha’s on the hob
The best thing is that it cleans so easily … I am so relieved … its totally lovely ..
I guess its just a matter of getting used to it … but I am starting to love it .. the heat really penetrates into the food and cooks it well … specially the chicken … when i was using gas hob, chicken would dry out and I had to keep an eye on it .. but somehow on the induction hob, chicken comes out perfectly cooked and with the right level of texture
Good luck to everyone whose buying it /using it for the first time
if i knew that was the kinda oven u were looking into buying i woulda told u to buy some pots and pans too cuz it sure is surprising when u cant use any of the oter stuff :D but ure right.. its a dream to cook on and much better than that.. CLEAN IT.. yayyyyyy
does ures have a touch panel? i found it very confusing and used to hit tehm so much but they just wouldnt budge.. tehn husband showed me that i have to glide my finger to increase or decrease teh heat... my eyes khuli ki khuli remained! :o
i hated ours , stuff would take ages and ages to cook and if you were gnna cook 2 handis it would go into error , mind you it was probably not a very good one put it by the landlord.
it did have the touch panels which was good.
we now have a gas cooker and its a breeze ... i dont see any difference in texture or taste
Khawa , yes its touch control panel … and yeah my hubby was so excited , he actually pressed the controls with so much force … until i told him to glide his finger on the controls and watch the magic
I am totally loving it , we bought some pots from Ikea , got them in really good price and now its working like a breeze , mashallah …
The cleaning is totally awesome and the cooking is spot on ..infact i have bought a stainless steel kettle as well and will be boiling water on it rather then the electric kettle … Water boils much faster on the induction then the kettle ! and is so much more energy efficient as well
Khawa , lucky you , just burnt your food .. I burnt my finger and realized the pot gets hot in less then a second … When I was trying my pots to see if it works , after four pots i put a frying pan on and didnt realize that it had started getting heated up and I placed my hand on it with pressure and now the tips of all of my fingers feel dead
I’m renovating my kitchen and looking for appliances. I’m not convinced I could do roti, chapati or paranthas on an induction hob:D My dear hubby loves his roti’s and we have it nearly everyday cleaning gas cook top is a pain everyday. Is induction cook top (hob) any good for making roti paranthas? Amie did use your normal tawa or bought an iron skillet? I’m so confused want induction but don’t want to regret it later
Hi Beebo , I have an induction Hob .. I love using it for general cooking , but its definitely a no go for Roti / paratha making .. I even tried to do it with a flat pizza pan but just doesnt create beautiful roti's ..
Therefore i have a separate single hob gas stove .. and its dedicated to roti making and rice making .. i think in our desi cooking a fire stove is absolutely necessary to have .. though i dont cook the salans or any other thing on it coz cleaning it is a total hassle .
But cleaning the induction hob is the easiest thing in the world .. i love it ..
