Indoor Plants

Lately, I have been thinking of putting some indoorplants in the living room etc. Can you people please give me some suggestions on which indoor plants to ‘bring home’. Also, some tips and advice on which ones are easier to take care of will be useful, since I am kind of lazy.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Indoor Plants

Butterfly palm is very easy to take care of and it's meant for indoors.

Re: Indoor Plants

Bamboo and Peace lily are both very indoor plants. Just follow simple instructions when you bring them home!

Re: Indoor Plants

Thank you for the suggestions corrupt angel and hareem. I will definitely look them up. Ideally, I would like a plant that would survive negligence:D

Re: Indoor Plants

Bamboo will survive negligence but peace lily won't if you don't water it every 2 days or so because the soil has to be moist. Go for bamboo if you want a low maintenance plant.

Buy this. You don’t need to water it at all.

what is that called?

also are there plants that take care of the bad smell?

Re: Indoor Plants

Can’t go wrong with a simple Money Plant. It’s just awesome, and can take as much abuse as you throw at it. Give it some love, and it grows like a weed!

In essential, any plant can become an indoor plant. Grow it in a pot, and it’s an indoor plant. Some are more finicky than other, in terms of heat/coldness/water, and it’s a learning experience. My mom has a giant Elephant’s Ears (http://cherylsgardengoodies.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/09-02-08-4.jpg) growing in her living room, and that’s the kind of stuff you find growing outside in the tiny backyard of people’s homes in Pakistan. So that should give you an idea :hehe:

Also, generally lillies are harder to grow inside, as well as orchids.

Re: Indoor Plants

I don't think I am capable of keeping plants alive, even the indoor ones. Do get a bamboo tree, but I did manage to kill that too, slowly.

An artificial plastic plant.

no idea.

hahaha, good idea hareem. But I don't want plastic plants. They totally beat the idea of keeping plants indoor.
