Can anyone give me tips about keeping indoor plants? I bought 2/3 plants to test if they’ll survive at my place. well, they are still green but not growing, one little leaf is the same size for a month. But its not dead…
What should i do? Should i change the pot when i bring the plants home? How much should i water them? How much sunlight do they need? I live in an apartment building, the next apartment building is so close that we dont get much sunlight. What should i do?
Home plants grow slowly... otherwise you'd have a huge jungle in your house
if the are still green , thats a good sign...you havent killed them yet...
watering depends upon what type of plant it is...it should have a little label telling you where to keep it (shade/sunny windowsill etc) and how often to water...
if it doesnt, google the name of the plant(should be on the label)
you'll get all the info you need.
this is general info because houseplants are just ordinary plants found around the world that are supposed to do well in a container and hometype conditions...
they should be repotted when they get too big for the pot...
It depends on the plant itself to determine whether its suitable for direct sunlight or humidity (eg your bathroom). Try to avoid putting them very close to a heater though as this will most certainly frizzle them.
Check the bottom of the plant pot, if there's lots of roots visible and not much compost then it needs repotting but only repot into a slightly larger pot each time you repot. I don't know why but who am I to question Alan Titchmarsh.
