Indo - Pak Conflict

Could any one please refer a good book on Indo-Pak conflict.

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

What do you mean by "good" ?

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

a good read, where the facts are precise, and the story is looked at from all angels with a nuetral perspective.

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

there is no such thing as neutral.

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

Gamme is right. There is no such thing as a neutral, balanced look at history.

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

there are some relatively neutral accounts of Indo-Pak military conflict, but i'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. "Conflict" is very vague....all the prominent books on the political history and partition are labeled as India-biased by Pakistanis.

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

looks like no one has actaully read ne thing on the topic.. :/

neways history can be nuetral provided it is written from an outsiders point of view (i.e a non Pak/Ind)

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

Not really. All of the English-language “outsider” writing about the Indo-Pak conflict was done during the Cold War and as such reflects the writers’ bias about whether anti-USSR Pakistan or USSR-friendly India was better

Re: Indo - Pak Conflict

Feminazi, it is hard to find a book that covers indo-pak in detail post and pre partition. You have to be more precise on which exact conflict do you need information about. There are good books about British India that talk about war of the 1857 up till the turn of the century, then there are books about Congress, Muslim League & British pre-partition and then books about post partition books that emphasize on Kashmir, 65 war, Bangladesh & so much more.

The best is to go to your nearest library and check out the books there. I hardly ever buy books unless I have read really good reviews of it.

And I agree with others, history by nature is bias.
