Rahul Gandhi’ latest comments in Indian polity have triggered a new controversy, while attracting attacks from Pak political forces on Indian role in the formation of Bangladesh.
Rahul does it again: This time, draws fire for saying my family ensured division of Pakistan
My family is not one that doesn’t keep its word, Mr Gandhi told a predominantly Hindu nationalist audience on Saturday in Bareilly, in western Uttar Pradesh. Once they make a commitment to a cause they stay faithful to it, be it the issue of India’s independence from foreign rule, or the division of Pakistan into two or leading India into the 21st century.

^ India has had oppurtunities to split up India... The Sikh rebelion was one instance... The only difference is that India didnt have outside pressure to force the process, and in the end, was able to keep Punjab through sheer ruthlessens.
So whats the difference.
Still, Indra Ghandi got what she deserved in the end! Who says there's no justice in the world?!

I believe in divine justice of one form or another... As far as im concerned, she got what she deserved... And im not asking you understand, I wouldnt expect that from an Indian...

Indra ganndhi said that after we lost in bangladesh.
Pakistanis weren't the smartest people to handle 1971 mess--- but still there were other factors too.
Ofcourse... Pakistan had a big advatage in having to borders with India.. It was a strategic threat to India, and Indra took it upon herself to finish that threat.

what is truth and known to india. is yes it used the internal disturbances for the gain. after atrocities began in march ( remember some nationall day of bagladesh) large number of refugees possibly hindus started moving to india. and it became intolerable ... there was no one to see woes of the bagali people ( we can see mass graves massacres rapes by W Pakistani army) india intervened yes the reason can be military political gain but it was inevitable..
remember the disturbances started in march but 71 war took place in december

it was sad partof history with language and culture oppression.. it clearly proved that religion cannot be deciding factor for everything and partition on religion basis a tootal failure.. if the west pakistan army not conducted genocide and agreed fro Mujib to head give no problem would had occurred.. no one can absorb the atrocities.
in india first thing after 47 was state reorganisation on language basis no tussle satrted cause of that

I don't love the Gandhi Family too much.. but I don't think Indhira Gandhi did WRONG in the whole golden temple situation.. The sikh militants were going out of control and she did exactly what she shouldve.. and it WORKEd.. didnt it?
Ofcourse, she has done many other things that I stronglyl disagree with and I am not even close to being a fan of her.. but saying "she deserved to die becoz of Operation BlueStar" is not correct..
Rahul Gandhi, is just using his family's history to gain poliltical momentum before the upcoming elections in India.. nothing else.. he's just learning the tricks of politics..

Exactly...I agree...This guy is digging-up 1971 graves for political gains....I heard hi speech....it was mainly targeted to UP election the--politically important region, where Congress Party is loosing it's base.
I still fail to understand, what credibility Rahul Gandhi has??...he just represents the Monarchy of family based Congres party in India.
There are millions of Rahuls in India --having better qualification than him.
1971 thing-- of course Indira ji shown some extraordinary courage but the main architects were Marshal Sam Maneckshaw and co.

Thank you for stating the truth, which these days is hard to say especially about the East Pakistan tragedy...the biggest symbol/icon of anti-islam secular degenerative force, Bhattu is solely responsible for splitting Pakitan...

we have our own version o rahul gandhis, who are in govt or in political news because they are offsprings of politicians.
sadly they, and rahul, in conjunction with michael douglas and emilio estevez prove that talent..political or acting... is not genetic.
I may be hated for saying this, but I'll say it anyway.
Pakistan has always blindly sided with the US. It was the US who wanted Majib ur Rahman's Socialist Awami League crushed. Indra's Socialist gov't aided the rebels. When rebels failed, India attacked. India threatened to even attack Pakistan (West Pakistan) until Nixon thretened a nuke strike against India. India stopped, but it was this threat that led to India's own development of nukes.
Some concepts are broader than just India and Pakistan.
