India's Bowling future???

Irfan Pathan and Munaaf Patel???

One torn apart by aussies on his debut,

best of luck to India’s future bowlers???

Irfan only took a wicket rest he got beaten up by ponting...and i don't know about the other guy.

These are early days for these bowlers. You have got to give them time to settle down and perform. From what I saw of Irfan yesterday he looked bit raw but there is a poential there to develop. Whether it will, remains to be seen. His action reminds me of Wasim Akram.

Actually ehsan is right. His action reminded me of akram as well. Its not the same action, but he has a sort of "pause" in his action similar to akram. I think he bowled fairly well, but it was just a very batting friendly wicket.

Ponting ney to dhodia India bowling future:k:

It's true, Pathan has a similar action as to the legend Wasim Akram.

No one is saying anything that Pathan is as good as Wasim. No one can ever match his caliber. The fact that Pathan, runs up, jumps in the air with his left arm a little bent, pauses in the air, then releases. He uses his arm to pace the ball, rather than a full form action. Something Wasim did.

Why ... is that some law written by God and cast in stone.

Irfan is just 19 and playing his first test for crying out loud and that too against a very good team.

I remember watching(for the first time ) Akram bowl in the 1985 Benson & Hedges One day Series in Australia (which India won). He was good but did not seem so obviouly destined to be such a great bowler. I recall Azharuddin (who was also new) hitting him to all parts of the ground with relative ease.

While on the subject, I hope the Indian selectors persist with Pathan for some time instead of dumping him based on his performance in few matches. Indian selectors are known to do that. I am sure, with experience and maturity, Irfan will be able to iron out some of his bowling deficiencies.

with zaheer, pathan and munaf (if what they say of him is true), i think they can make a good bowling attack....
and with kharbuja singh and kumble taking the spin department, looks a good bowling side....
given the advantage of their batters, i think they dont need a very strong bowling, so this is better than they cud ask for....

and yes there is nehra too....

OK..Wasim had a bowling action like Irfan. Now is that better?

MOVED TO JOKES SECTION......

btw, i am so gald that i have joined gupshup, coz i get to hear all this funny stuff for free....

wait on for a couple of more months, and u will see their bowling attack ripped apart by hameed, farhat, yoyo and inzi...and dont worry, sami and shoaib will be enough for their batsman...

Now it can certainly be moved to the JOKES SECTION.

you’re right. i can definitely see hameed, farhat, yoyo shaking in their boots at the prospect of facing a guy named munaf. :rotfl:
who the hell names you people by the way.

I fail to see the point in this thread.

Why are we so concerned about India. Don't we have any issues of our own to resolve and discuss.

The bowlers being criticized and made fun of are just playing for the first time at international level and that too against Australia, in Australia. How good or bad they are will become evident after some time. It is too early to compare them with Wasim or to make a fun of them.
