anyways, indians and pakistanis are very emotional creatures, probably from watching too many hindi movies etc. and overdo the love-hate thing. mostly neither party are particularly pleasant as a general group. some individuals are nice and fun to hang with. but they’d be fun even if they were ugandan or peruvian.

ajeeb baat hai.. oye, poltical ko maar goli, its a simple thing. burma isn't part of india like you seem to think. it is a separate country. to the east of india.

when you don't even know such a basic thing, why would anyone take anything else you say seriously pal..

I'll be honest, i don't have any Indian friend and never really had one. With the exception of very few, most of the Indians i have come across are really nice people. I don't hate them or dislike them. I have come across many Indians ever since i came to London. But, due to some odd reasons, i can never ever be friends with Indians. As i said above, I have nothing against them, and it's just that i have my own reservations.

As far as relationship between both nations is concerned, well, it's a completely a different issues. Due to some obvious reasons & policies we don't get along, and we never will. That's the reasons why Pakistan was created!

Yeah, I guess that goes for both muslims and non muslims and perhaps for other desis too. It's because they're nosy and noisy and don't keep their houses and streets clean and tidy.

on a serious note, indians like queer usually either join the forum with a particular utopian worldview about how india and pakistan are really the same bhai bhai and we should give each other mithai, or they join as trolls looking for a fight. this isnt a streotype, just an evaluation of the possible motives one might have to join another country's bulletin boards.

while i have unfortunately forgotten queer's early days, but i do remember him posting things like urdu ghazals and whatnot and getting some appreciation from some of the more generous pakistanies. as you spend more time on the forums though any bhai-bhai ideas you may have go away very quickly, especially because west based desies get to see what the people actually living in their home countries think of each other.

thus the bitterness and the stalking people around the forum to act as their ghost of christmas past. it is very sad, and i can empathise. he probably came to the forum with a much better attitude than he does now.

queer... maybe... but i have a tendency to bring up hot button issues.

there is some truth to what ravage brings up - most indians who come onto pakistani sites are self-proclaimed peacemakers. the real irritation begins when the indians think they are being friendly by saying stuff like "we are the same people etc". and pakistanis see this as an affront to their identity.

indians and pakistanis have tons of differences, and tons of similarities too - both are fairly fragmented societies. not that it should matter much either way. but it does get all comical when the overzealous lumping and dividing begins.

while i might have come to the forums with a oh i want to hug a pakistani attitude, and now i'd be a lot more circumspect with a pakistani i'd run into at the mall, atleast i know which kind of pakistani i'd be okay with hugging (that'd be you ravage ; ) ).
