Indian Team for the tests has been announced…the team is as follows
Sourav Ganguly (c), Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid (v-c), V V S Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Akash Chopra, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, L Balaji, Ajit Agarkar, Anil Kumble, Parthiv Patel (wk), Ramesh Powar, Murali Kartik
Harbhajan Singh , Kumble are welcome inclusions - so is Akash Chopra
I dont really really appreciate the inclusion of Yuvraj Singh - would have really liked Kaif coming in place of him…Kaif has a very good temperament for the test match.
Also Ramesh Powar is a itsy bitsy player suited more for the ODI version of the game..should have gone for another bowler ( probably Amit Bhandari)
A very strong squad and all of the bowlers are back as well except for Nehra. Is he going back to India? I also think that Kaif should have been in the squad in place of Yuvraj and Powar has done nothing in the ODI's to have justified his place in the test squad. I am also not sure of how effective Agarkar will be in the test series.
Bitter, Harbhajan is not in the squad.
The test series will probably be as thrilling as the ODI series.
as regards to the excitement part...if the wickets of ODI are indicative of things to come then I fear a dull and drab test series (0-0) which will be deathbed for the bowlers..if only there is a spark then that would be Messrs Shoaib and Sami who I guess bowl at diff wavelength in the test series..
I dont know why Romesh Pawar is there. He is a utility player and should be in ODI team only. They should have kept Sadgoppan Ramesh in team. Well either way none of them are going to play.

Yuvi comes as an opener in the team, which effectively rules out Ramesh, not because he has done something wroong, but because of Yuvi's talent. Although Kaif has temperament, but where are you going to fit him. I think Yuvraj said sometime back ago that he is ready to open and that worked for him.
