Indian Team declared: Sehwag Vice captain, pacy avishkar in

Yeah Ofcourse ! But this temporary appointment makes way for future; thats why its important that who's made VC now!

His irresponsible batting added extra pressure on other batsmen in our team,It also forced Captain Ganguly to go with an extra batsmen and left with him atleast 1 less option.

Awarding him the VC especially after his ir-responsible batting in World Cup is even more ridiculous.

I think this is a temporary appointment and is there only for Dhaka Tournament because Dravid is not going there. In the absense of Dravid & Sachin I am sure Kaif's place is guarnteed in the XI. Kaif is a very good prospect for India both in Tests and ODIs. He has the temperament, technique and above all willingness to learn, Improve and perform at the top level. He is also very humble unlike the loud mouth Sehwag.

Well even if it is a temperory appointment why invest in someone who place in not guranteed. His position in ODI team is OK but he is not even in TEST team.Where as Sehwag's place is more secure in both version of game .Thought Kaif has more captainship material.

Now talkig about Loud mouth thing. Dont get carried away be rediff style reporting. He is one of the most sober and well mannered guy in Indian team. This is I am telling u based on my experience where my best friend has spent a lot of time with him during 2002 Trip and this worldcup in South Africa. He said he was the most kool and humble person in team.

Well Sehwag's place may be guarnteed more than Kaif , but I dont agree with the Investment , I dont think Board is investing anything here, Both the players are gauranteed a place in the team and both are going to play in the final XI. The vice captain should be someone who can fill in the role more aptly in the absence of his captain, someone who is not afraid to give his suggestions to the captain and someone who understands the game better than others.

About Sehwag being a loud mouth - I am not saying it because I read it anywhere on Rediff, I have been reading his comments for a while and I think at times he is way out of line for example before the India-NZ match he said he would score a century against NZ. About your friend's observation about Sehwag, well with due respect to your friend and his observations , He could be right, but he could be wrong and biased as well (because he is a good friend of Sehwag).

Anyways - We agree to disagree.

Kool.

Captains with an attitude have become the norm these days anyway...Saurav Ponting Hussein all of them kinda nose the world a bit and their fans like it in them. The days of the clerical captain is gone.

It might also be a reward for the Sehwag blast in the finals

Why the hell is Mongia selected?? :konfused:

kambakht scored a century in an exhibition match against SL in Bbay just before selections :frowning:

Itna Ghusa. :hehe:

**Indian new boy relishes chance **](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Indian new boy relishes chance)

Gambhir is relatively inexperienced in the one-day game
Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has voiced a willingess to fill any role in an attempt to establish himself in the Indian team.
The 21-year-old from Delhi has been given his chance in the forthcoming triangular one-day series in Bangladesh, which also involves South Africa.

The World Cup finalists have been forced make a number of changes because of the unavailability of senior players, including star batsman Sachin Tendulkar.

But it is not certain Gambhir will take his favoured position, with skipper Sourav Ganguly able to go in first with Virender Sehwag.

“I can bat in any position. I am confident of handling the pressure, no matter where I come at the top of the order or in the middle,” Gambhir told the Press Trust of India.

""I am really happy as this is a dream come true for me. I was trying hard to get a place in the team and this is a big reward.

“I will try my level best to do well and will give 100 per cent.”

Gambhir starred on the India A tour of the West Indies, where they took part in the domestic first-class championship, scoring 617 runs.

He has already made 10 first-class centuries, including a top score of 233 not out in the Ranji Trophy, and averages almost 60.

Three other uncapped players have been included in the Indian squad: batsman Abhijit Kale, medium-pacer Avishkar Salvi and leg-spinner Amit Mishra.

What are you talking about man ?? Whole tournament he didn't play and threw his wicket at every given opportunity and in the finals he scored 80 odd runs knowing the match was already lost and you telling he is rewarded because of that ??

Ideally he should have been thrown out of the team along with Dinesh Mongia.

Han ehsan bhai ; he was good for nothing. Had it been Bangar in his place, he wud have been real strength for batting and bowling as well:(
