Soldiers do have a sense of comradship no matter which country they are from. Most Pakistani soldiers of rank will usually make sure to mention the bravery of the other army in most discussions.

True, a soldier is a soldier, no matter from which side, and is worth respecting. Politics puts labels on them.

A dead man ( be it civilian , soilder or a terrorist ) is ememy of no body. The enimosity dies with the death of the enemy..
Its a cowardly act to defame the bodies....
I am glad Indian Army gave proper respect to the dead pakistani soldiers..

I was reading this story about a respected retired US colonel who served gallantly in NAM, he said that he came across the bravest person there, a vietnami... That guy was attacked during a raid and more than half his stomach literally got burst, but he kept firing for a long time and actually used a broken toilet seat for support in his stomach. When he finally got caught, he asked for water, and the colonel himself came and goes 'a man who fights like that drinks from my bottle' and offered him his own bottle. Soldiers generally have a mutual respect for each other.

That time has long since gone. American terrorist soldiers regard Iraqi civilians as low life scum “Sand Niggers”, so you can imagine how they feel about Iraqi Insurgents or the soldiers under Saddam’s ex military.

Some Indian soldiers are bad, some are not..But this is just a showpiece for the Indian Army. Go ask the Kashmiris in the Kashmir Valley how good they are.

Respect has also got atleast something to do with one's own character, while the US Army in Iraq or Afghanistan largely treat the locals like filth they would still have some soldiers like the Colonel Spock mentioned. Even in 'Nam there were many cases where US troops treated the locals in the most inhuman way, but there were still many men of character...Military training builds character, but how effectively depends on how the person was built before he got to the training institution...
